AJ Lee is expected to appear on this coming Monday Night Raw, according to a report from PWInsider. The appearance is slated to finalize the setup for a major mixed tag team match at WWE WrestlePalooza, pitting Lee and her husband CM Punk against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins on September 20.
This follows Lee’s return to the company on the September 5th edition of SmackDown. During the show’s final segment, she confronted Becky Lynch, attacking her before leaving with the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
The confrontation in Chicago was triggered after Lynch slapped CM Punk multiple times. Punk stated he would not retaliate against a woman but knew someone who would, which prompted Lee’s music to hit for her first physical involvement in a WWE ring in over a decade. The segment also followed an earlier promo where Seth Rollins promised Punk would “d–” in his hometown.
The animosity between the two pairs intensified at the Clash in Paris premium live event, where Lynch interfered with a low blow on Punk, helping Rollins retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Lynch also slapped Punk on the September 1st episode of Raw, setting the stage for the events on SmackDown.
Lee’s long-term role with the company has been solidified, as she has signed a full-time, multi-year contract. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque confirmed the signing by posting a video of it on X.
This new chapter marks Lee’s first time competing in WWE since March 2015, the night after WrestleMania 31. She had previously retired from in-ring action, citing permanent damage to her cervical spine.
