MJF made an appearance during the main event of AEW Collision, interfering in a match between Mark Briscoe and Konosuke Takeshita that had a future TNT title shot on the line. The interference directly led to the announcement of a match between MJF and Briscoe for the upcoming All Out pay-per-view.
The closing moments of the match saw Briscoe on the verge of victory when MJF ran in and shoved him off the top rope. This allowed Takeshita to capitalize, hitting a knee strike followed by his finisher to secure the win and the championship opportunity.
After the bell, Takeshita shoved MJF, showing his disapproval of the interference before Don Callis convinced him to leave the ring. This left MJF and a furious Mark Briscoe, who had just been cost a title shot, to brawl until officials separated them. It was then announced that the two will face each other at All Out, with Briscoe earning the right to choose the stipulation.
The clarification followed comments where Bully Ray had described AEW as a “lost” product. MJF stated his comments were not about the WWE Hall of Famer.
“This wasn’t about @bullyray5150,” MJF wrote. “This was a blanket statement I made in regard to talentless losers who never made it in my sport that attack both AEW, WWE, etc. companies/wrestlers in ways that aren’t constructive in the slightest to make money off of hardworking talented athletes.”
