Quinton “Rampage” Jackson announced on The Ariel Helwani Show that he has cut personal ties with his son, Raja Jackson. The decision follows Raja’s physical assault on wrestler Stewart Smith, known as “Syko Stu,” during a KnokX Pro Wrestling show in California. Rampage confirmed he will continue to cover his son’s legal expenses but will not be in personal contact with him for the time being.
The incident occurred on August 23, when the 25-year-old Raja Jackson entered the ring and attacked Smith. He slammed the wrestler, rendering him unconscious, and delivered more than 20 punches before being restrained. Raja broadcast the assault live on the streaming platform Kick.
The attack was reportedly triggered by an earlier confrontation where Smith hit Raja with a beer can. Sources indicated this was intended to be a scripted part of a storyline that escalated.
Appearing on Helwani’s show, Rampage explained that his son’s actions damaged his family’s reputation.
“I don’t want to hear about Raja right now. I’m mad at him,” Jackson stated. “He’s my son, I love him deeply, but he dishonored my name. I can’t even put into words how upset I am with my son… I’ve been in this sport for a long time, and when he did what he did, everything said: ‘MMA’s Rampage’s son.’ That’s my name, man. I don’t do that.”
Rampage clarified that the separation is not permanent but that he needs time away from his son.
“I’m not disowning him forever. I just haven’t spoken to him,” he said. “I spoke to him after the s—t happened, and he hid the fact that he did this. He put my other kids in danger. I’m not saying I’ll never speak to him again, I just can’t talk to him right now. I just need some time… I’m very disappointed in Raja.”
