AEW Could Shock The World With Tony Khan’s Potential Decision

Vince Russo has identified what he believes would be the single most impactful moment AEW could create. Speaking on his Writing with Russo podcast, he claimed that getting Taylor Swift to appear inside an AEW ring would be the “biggest game-changer” for the professional wrestling industry.

“If AEW ever got Taylor Swift in a ring, bro, that right now at this point in time would be the biggest game-changer in the history of the wrestling business, without a shadow of a doubt,” Russo said. “If that scenario ever happened, bro, you literally would have 10 million people watching that.”

While Russo’s scenario is hypothetical, deep personal ties exist between Swift and AEW’s Director of Business Development, Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett has recounted that around Christmas 2006, Swift performed a private three-hour concert at his Tennessee home for his family while his wife was dying of breast cancer.

The relationship dates back to when Swift was a rising local artist who had previously babysat Jarrett’s children.

This connection has been referenced more recently, with Jarrett extending public invitations to Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, to participate in AEW following his NFL career. A technical collaboration also exists between AEW and Swift’s production teams, who have shared main stage infrastructure for live events.

Despite these personal and logistical links, there have been no reports of Taylor Swift attending or being professionally involved in any AEW events as of September 7, 2025.
