WWE has released a split-screen video showing Becky Lynch’s live reaction to AJ Lee’s return on last week’s SmackDown. The footage captures Lynch appearing both speechless and terrified the moment Lee’s entrance music hit and she walked out onto the stage.

The clip provides a new perspective on the segment that closed the September 5 broadcast. During that confrontation, CM Punk addressed Becky Lynch in the ring. After Lynch put her hands on him, Punk stated he wouldn’t hit a woman but knew someone who would, which immediately prompted Lee’s entrance.

Once in the ring, Lee attacked Lynch, marking her first physical involvement inside a WWE ring in over a decade.

This encounter was the first time Lee and Lynch have ever stood opposite each other. Lee retired from in-ring competition before Lynch was called up to the main roster in 2015, a fact that has fueled fan anticipation for a potential match between the two. The conflict is rooted in Lynch and Seth Rollins targeting Lee’s husband, CM Punk, for months, setting the stage for a possible mixed tag team match.

Following Lee’s return, Triple H posted a welcome message on social media. The caption used in his post has generated significant fan speculation that it could be a hint toward a future return for Mercedes Moné, who has been wrestling for AEW since 2024 after leaving WWE in 2022.
