Ronda Rousey Calls WWE a “Chaotic S–t Show”

In a recent interview with Raj Prashad of Yahoo’s Uncrowned, Ronda Rousey stated she has no reason to return to WWE, describing the company as a “chaotic s–t show on the inside.” Her comments are some of her most direct to date about her time with the promotion and her potential future in pro wrestling.

Rousey explained that with her personal goals in WWE accomplished, the only remaining motivation would have been a run with the Four Horsewomen. However, with her friends no longer in the company, that possibility is gone.

“It was a lot of needless anxiety and things like that,” Rousey said. “And the whole company was just a chaotic s–t show on the inside, and then they ended up dropping all my friends. So I really have no reason to go back.”

She elaborated on the unfulfilled storyline, adding, “I wanted to do a run with the Four Horsewomen and I never got to do that. And now I feel like I’ve already accomplished everything that I wanted to in WWE and all that’s really left for me is to go there and have fun with my friends, and none of my friends are there anymore.”

Beyond the creative landscape, Rousey also cited her family life as a major factor, explaining that the demanding WWE travel schedule is not manageable now that she has two daughters.

Rousey’s last WWE match was at SummerSlam 2023, where she lost to former stablemate Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules match. Since then, Baszler was released by WWE earlier this year, Marina Shafir has joined AEW, and Jessamyn Duke has remained inactive in wrestling following her 2021 release.

This stance aligns with previous comments Rousey has made, including describing herself as “pretty much” retired with pro wrestling in her “rearview mirror.” On the Lapsed Fan podcast, she also stated she does not care about her WWE legacy, noting her biggest contributions were for her own satisfaction.
