Will Ospreay Reveals Surprising Plans After Wrestling Career

While Will Ospreay is currently focused on a major upcoming neck surgery, his long-term plans for life after wrestling have been revealed—and they are likely not what fans would expect. According to his fiancée, fellow wrestler Alex Windsor, the AEW star’s “dream” is to become a postman.

The revelation came during Windsor’s recent appearance on RJ City’s Hey!(EW). She explained that Ospreay has a very specific vision for his retirement that swaps the squared circle for a mail route.

“Speaking of postman, that’s his dream. When he leaves wrestling, he wants to be a postman,” Windsor stated. “No, but that’s his retirement plan. He wants to be a postman. But it’s one of them things where he could be like, oh, I used to be a wrestler. Now I’m just a postie. But not any postie, the Royal Mail.” (h/t Fightful)

This look toward a post-wrestling future comes as Ospreay prepares for a significant hiatus from the ring. He is scheduled to undergo surgery in the next couple of weeks to repair a few herniated discs in his neck that are pressing against his spinal cord.

AEW wrote the former International Champion off television at Forbidden Door to accommodate the procedure. The storyline reason for his absence was cemented after a brutal Lights Out Steel Cage Match, where Jon Moxley viciously attacked Ospreay, stomping his neck while it was wrapped in a steel chair.

Looking ahead, Ospreay himself has addressed the uncertainty his recovery brings to his signature high-flying style. While admitting he has a “stubborn pride” and a desire to return as the same performer, he acknowledged that his current injury is a direct result of that approach. Citing legends like Jushin Liger and AJ Styles as examples of wrestlers who successfully adapted after injuries, he is confident he can do the same if necessary.

Ospreay is reportedly consulting with specialists in the United Kingdom to explore ways to speed up his recovery, setting a personal target to return to the ring by the time AEW holds its All In in the UK on August 30, 2026.
