WWE has loaded up the September 15 episode of Monday Night Raw
Cena is expected to be in the ring to cut a promo and build the final hype for his anticipated match against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza. While he isn’t advertised for an actual match, the potential for chaos is high, as an appearance from Lesnar or a challenge from another superstar is always a possibility during Cena’s farewell run.
The Final Dates of a Legendary Career
This appearance on Raw is one of just seven dates left on Cena’s official retirement tour. Following his final SmackDown appearance on September 5, his remaining schedule will see him compete at Wrestlepalooza and Crown Jewel before a final series of Raw appearances that includes his last match in his hometown of Boston on November 10. His send-off will conclude with his final match ever on December 13 at the Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C.
The next major stop on that tour is Wrestlepalooza on September 20, where Cena is slated to face Brock Lesnar in what is being billed as the final chapter of their rivalry. The premium live event is notably scheduled on the same night as AEW’s All Out, with the Cena vs. Lesnar marquee match seen as a direct strategic move to compete with the rival promotion.
Next week’s Raw will also feature another high-stakes segment, as AJ Lee and CM Punk are set for a face-to-face confrontation with their Wrestlepalooza opponents, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, to escalate their rivalry ahead of the big event.
