Wrestling fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief, as a new report from PWInsider has effectively shut down speculation that CM Punk was injured during an off-air incident at this week’s Monday Night Raw.
The concern was ignited by fan-shot footage that began circulating on social media following the September 8 show in Milwaukee. The clip captured Punk taking a hard fall while exiting the ring, appearing to slip and hit his back on the apron before landing on the floor.
Given Punk’s recent history, including the torn triceps he suffered at the 2024 Royal Rumble that sidelined him for months, the online chatter quickly turned to worry. However, the PWInsider report states that there is no truth to the rumors, noting that upon checking, they were told “no one heard anything about Punk being hurt and everyone dismissed it as one of those stories that spread online but have no bearing in fact.”
The positive news is crucial, as Punk is currently embroiled in a deeply personal feud alongside his wife, AJ Lee. The couple is now officially set to face World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch in a mixed tag team match at the Wrestlepalooza premium live event on September 20.
