The status of the Women’s World Championship match at WrestlePalooza remains intentionally murky, even after Triple H addressed the situation. During a September 9 appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, “The Game” confirmed that IYO SKY will indeed face Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant title on September 20.
However, when pressed about the advertised contract signing that disappeared from the September 8 episode of Raw, Triple H expertly dodged the question. “To be honest, I wasn’t there last night,” he said with a smirk. “I haven’t had a chance to watch the show yet because I was at Kill Tony.”
His deflection only adds to the intrigue surrounding the matchup. The signing segment was abruptly pulled from Raw, with GM Adam Pearce only stating on-air that Vaquer was “unable to be at the event,” a move that reportedly caused confusion among talent backstage.
The bout was first announced on September 1 to crown a new champion after Naomi vacated the title on August 18 due to her pregnancy. Vaquer earned her shot by winning a battle royal at Evolution in July, while SKY, the former champion, was already in line for a rematch.
For now, WWE continues to promote the championship match for the premium live event, but without an official on-screen signing, Triple H’s comments seem designed to fuel speculation of a potential storyline twist.
