Just one night after her mysterious absence from WWE Raw forced the cancellation of a championship contract signing, Stephanie Vaquer has resurfaced. The Women’s World Championship contender made an impactful appearance on the September 9 edition of NXT, aligning with fellow main roster heavyweights Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton.
The show’s final segment saw NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne cutting a promo, furious that her faction, Fatal Influence, was not booked for next week’s NXT Homecoming special. Jayne proclaimed herself the greatest NXT Women’s Champion of all time, a statement that drew out Vaquer.
Vaquer, a former NXT Women’s and North American Champion, reminded Jayne that she once held both titles simultaneously and vowed to become Women’s World Champion at Wrestlepalooza. When Jayne pointed out that Vaquer was outnumbered, she was quickly joined by WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, who took issue with Jayne’s “greatest champion” boast. After Jayne dismissed the main roster stars as “super seniors,” Stratton warned that “Mami” wouldn’t appreciate the comment.
This prompted the arrival of Rhea Ripley, who officially evened the odds. Ripley declared that if Fatal Influence wanted to be on the Homecoming card, they now had a match: a six-woman tag team showdown. The main roster trio then stormed the ring, clearing out Fatal Influence and standing tall to close the show.
Vaquer’s appearance on NXT is particularly significant, as it comes after she was inexplicably absent from the September 8 Raw. Her scheduled contract signing with IYO SKY for their match to decide the vacant Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza was canceled, though Raw GM Adam Pearce insisted the title match itself will still happen.
