Saudi Arabia Reportedly Planning Massive WrestleMania 43 Event

Saudi Arabia is planning to make WrestleMania 43 the most stacked event in wrestling history, with a core strategy focused on bringing major legends out of retirement for the card. The plans were detailed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, who outlined the country’s massive financial investment to ensure the 2027 show is unprecedented.

The project is reportedly being overseen by Turki Al-Alshikh, whose financial backing gives him significant authority in the planning. According to Meltzer, the goal is to create a show where money is no object in securing talent.

“They’re putting up an incredible amount of money, a ridiculous amount of money. And the idea is to present the most star-studded show ever—by far. Anyone. Money’s no object. Any name you can imagine—obviously they’re going to be after.”

This ambition specifically includes making offers to iconic figures who have long since hung up their boots. While no matches are confirmed, the intent is clear.

“Yes, we’re talking about anyone coming out of retirement. Anyone with big name value—if they want to do it—they’ll be able to get a lot of money for this show. That’s what they want,” Meltzer stated. He added that while he hasn’t heard of specific matches being discussed, he presumes legends like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and Steve Austin will all be contacted.

The event marks the first time WrestleMania will be held outside of North America, a move positioned to coincide with Saudi Arabia’s 300th-anniversary celebrations. It also signals a significant shift, with Saudi organizers aiming to exert creative influence over the card for the first time in their partnership with WWE.
