WWE is taking its biggest show of the year on the road. The company has finalized a deal to bring WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia in 2027, with an official announcement expected this Friday in Las Vegas. This move marks the first time the company’s flagship premium live event will be held outside of North America.
The confirmation follows an accidental leak in a Snapchat video from Turki Al-Sheikh, the Chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority. Sources clarify this will be the official WrestleMania, not a spin-off show like the Greatest Royal Rumble, “with all the bells and whistles.”
The event is being positioned as the most star-studded wrestling card ever assembled. Saudi organizers, backed by substantial financing, plan to make massive offers to lure major legends out of retirement. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, “They’re putting up an incredible amount of money, a ridiculous amount of money… Any name you can imagine—obviously they’re going to be after.” Names like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and Steve Austin are reportedly targets for these unprecedented paydays.
To build the global spectacle, WWE is planning an extensive promotional campaign. PWInsiderElite.com notes to “Expect a big push to have lots of major legends making appearances in some fashion.” Meanwhile, Indianapolis and New Orleans are already being considered as frontrunners to host WrestleMania in 2028 and beyond.
