Wrestling veteran Disco Inferno is not a fan of how Roman Reigns has been booked since his return to WWE programming. Speaking on his “K100” show, Inferno criticized the company’s creative direction for the former champion, comparing it to a tired formula previously used for Brock Lesnar.
He described the pattern as Reigns simply showing up at the end of a broadcast for a run-in to establish dominance. “So, Roman’s got this thing where he’s just popping in at the end of the show, doing a run-in, and they get the heat on. I don’t know, I’m not impressed with Roman [Reigns]’ booking. I think they could do more with the guy, obviously,” Inferno stated.
This booking comes after Reigns lost the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL and has since transitioned to a part-time schedule. This reduced presence on WWE programming isn’t just a creative choice, but a necessity driven by Reigns’ commitments outside the ring.
Roman Reigns’ Hollywood Commitments
The primary reason for Roman Reigns’ recent absence is his role in the upcoming live-action “Street Fighter” movie from Legendary Entertainment. He was written off television via a storyline attack to accommodate filming, where he is set to play the character Akuma.
His WrestleMania 40 opponent, Cody Rhodes, is also in the film as Guile, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
