Fresh speculation about Ronda Rousey’s future is making the rounds after she publicly praised AEW’s Jon Moxley, calling him “the most incredible human being ever” during an interview with “Uncrowned.” According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, these comments have directly fueled new “insider chatter” that Rousey could be open to a run with AEW.
The praise for Moxley connects back to a booking conflict in late 2023. At the time, AEW President Tony Khan objected to a Pro Wrestling Revolver match featuring Rousey and Marina Shafir, as it was scheduled the night before a similar match at an ROH taping. The situation, which reportedly left Rousey unhappy, was resolved only after Moxley personally intervened.
This history of friction, contrasted with her admiration for a key AEW figure, is central to why the speculation of her joining the promotion persists.
Rousey’s Stance on a WWE Return
Adding context to the AEW rumors, Rousey has also clarified her position on a WWE comeback, stating the company was a “chaotic s—t show on the inside” and that the demanding travel schedule is incompatible with her family life.
With all her friends gone from the company, she feels there is no reason for her to return, effectively leaving the door open for other possibilities should she wrestle again.
