What was set to be a landmark night of collaboration between WWE and Lucha Libre AAA quickly spiraled into chaos, triggered by a sudden medical issue and capped off by a horrifying statement from a rising faction.
Xavier Woods announced via X that he recently underwent surgery to remove a lymph node. The procedure forced him out of his scheduled AAA World Tag Team Championship match at the World Collide event. Grayson Waller was tapped as the last-minute replacement, teaming with Kofi Kingston to challenge the champions, Pagano and Psycho Clown.
The match itself was a wild, hard-hitting affair. Despite the new partnership, Waller and Kingston were ultimately unsuccessful in their bid to capture the gold from Pagano and Psycho Clown. During the contest, Waller also suffered a nasty cut to the head after seemingly being struck by his own partner, Kingston, during a flurry of ground and pound on Pagano.
The night’s most significant development occurred after the bell. The Wyatt Sicks stormed the ring, brutally attacking the victorious champions with tables and chairs. The faction left Pagano and Psycho Clown laid out, posing over them with the AAA Tag Team Titles to signal their clear and violent intentions.
There is currently no timetable for Xavier Woods’ return to the ring.
