WWE and Saudi Arabia Reportedly Planning Major New Announcement

Former WWE star Stevie Richards has made a bold prediction regarding the company’s future, claiming that Saudi Arabia will ultimately purchase the promotion. Speaking on his podcast, The Stevie Richards Show, he suggested the massive deal could even be announced at a future WrestleMania.

Richards’ speculation comes directly on the heels of Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s confirmation on September 12 that WrestleMania will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2027. The move marks the first time in over 40 years that the flagship PLE will take place outside of North America.

“I still stand by my point, especially after this announcement, that WWE is going to, maybe not this year, maybe not next year, well, maybe next year, they’ll announce it at WrestleMania, that Saudi Arabia is buying WWE,” Richards stated. “If it’s not gonna be now, it’s gonna be sometime in the future leading to 2030, which is a huge date for Saudi Arabia.”

This long-term partnership, which began with a 10-year deal in 2018, is already fueling reports about the Kingdom’s ambitious creative plans for the historic event.

Reported Creative Ambitions for the Saudi Event

According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Saudi Arabia is aiming to stack the WrestleMania 43 card by bringing several top legends out of retirement. The wishlist reportedly includes The Rock, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker.

The report highlights a particular focus on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Meltzer notes that Saudi Arabia is prepared to make “the biggest offer in wrestling history” to secure him for a single match, adding serious financial weight to the long-rumored showdown against Roman Reigns.
