The second chapter of Andrade’s WWE career has come to an abrupt end. After weeks of speculation fueled by his absence from television, it’s now confirmed that the former United States Champion is once again gone from the company, with backstage tensions being the catalyst for the split.
According to a report from PWInsider, WWE’s decision to release Andrade stemmed from his growing frustration with creative direction since his return at the 2024 Royal Rumble. The situation reportedly worsened in recent weeks as Andrade became unreachable, leading the company to part ways despite him having more than 18 months remaining on his contract.
His exit forced immediate changes to creative, as a planned tag team match pitting Andrade and Rey Fenix against the Wyatt Sicks at Clash in Paris was quietly scrapped.
The departure also explains Andrade’s absence during last night’s episode of SmackDown, where Fenix challenged Sami Zayn for the United States Championship without his partner in his corner.
At the AEW Worlds End post-show press conference at the time, company president Tony Khan stated that he and Andrade parted on good terms, leaving no bridges burned between them.
Speculation now points to a possible return to AEW as his next destination.
