Some moves in pro wrestling hit a nerve with other superstars, and for The New Day and Grayson Waller, that move is the Mexican Destroyer — a maneuver they’ve openly campaigned to have banned.
On this week’s Monday Night Raw, that very move proved decisive in Penta’s singles match against Kofi Kingston. The bout was filled with interference: Xavier Woods tried to distract the referee from the apron while Waller attempted a run-in. Penta shut it down, flooring Waller with a superkick before finishing Kingston with the Mexican Destroyer, leaving the commentary team audibly concerned for The New Day’s condition.
The tension didn’t stop with the three-count. Penta followed up by attacking Woods after the bell, sending a clear message to his rivals.
The assault served as payback for last week, when interference from The New Day and Waller cost him a match against Rusev. With the Mexican Destroyer now cemented as the centerpiece of this feud, the rivalry is only escalating.
