Rey Mysterio Confirms Plan To End Dominik’s WWE Run

The long-running conflict between Rey Mysterio and his son, Dominik, has now spilled beyond the confines of storyline. Following the public humiliation at WWE Worlds Collide, where he was forced to hand over the AAA Mega Championship to “Dirty Dom,” Rey has confirmed that their father-son relationship is fractured beyond repair.

Speaking on the Shoboy Show, the WWE Hall of Famer was blunt about the state of his family. He even went as far as to call his son “the Scarface of wrestling” before outlining how deep the rift has become.

“Of course not. There’s no way. Yes (the relationship is broken),” Rey admitted. “He really believes he’s the best Mysterio in the world. Now, I mean, can a one night accomplishment overcome 34 years of career? That’s a fan question. I can’t answer that. I wish I could.”

While acknowledging Dominik’s current momentum, Rey stressed that the success won’t go unanswered.

“He might wanna be taking over the world of wrestling. I think that’s what he wants. He’s the Scarface of wrestling right now,” Rey said. “He’s on cloud nine right now. Let him ride it, let him ride it. I’ll eventually knock him back on his ass.” (h/t WrestleTalk)

Rey’s defiant vow comes as reports point toward his imminent in-ring return. According to PWInsider, the former world champion—out of action since before WrestleMania 41 with a groin injury—is expected at the WWE Performance Center next week to undergo the final steps of his recovery.

His absence already forced major adjustments to creative plans earlier this year. Originally scheduled for a WrestleMania 41 clash with El Grande Americano, Rey’s injury led to Dragon Lee stepping into the spot instead. Now, with his comeback on the horizon, the legendary luchador appears ready to settle his family feud where it matters most: inside the ring.
