Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite marks the return of Robyn Renegade, who steps into the ring against AEW Women’s World Champion Riho. On paper, the match looks like a tune-up for Riho ahead of her title clash with TBS Champion Mercedes Moné at All Out. Behind the scenes, however, there may be larger implications.
According to Fightful Select, AEW has long discussed an alliance between Moné and the Renegade Twins. The report notes that plans for the trio date back more than a year, with several near-debuts scrapped along the way. Moné has reportedly been a driving force behind the idea, pushing to work with the twins and helping advance the concept internally.
The plan progressed far enough that the Renegade Twins had matching gear created to fit Moné’s aesthetic, underscoring how close the faction came to becoming a reality.
Robyn Renegade’s return is particularly notable given her last televised AEW match came in March, when she lost to Moné on Collision. Her sister, Charlette, has been absent even longer, last wrestling on Dark: Elevation in April 2023.
With Riho locked in on her championship showdown at All Out, tonight’s meeting with Robyn Renegade carries added intrigue. It may not only test Riho’s focus ahead of a high-stakes title match, but also signal the first public step toward the formation of a new power faction in AEW’s women’s division.
