The El Grande Americano persona may soon extend beyond WWE programming into the business world. According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio, the company is in talks with a major food and beverage partner for a potential sponsorship and dual branding deal centered on the masked luchador.
The report confirmed that discussions have taken place but noted there is no timeline on when, or if, an agreement will be finalized. “Sources indicate that WWE and a major food and beverage company have been in discussions about a promotional, sponsorship, and dual branding agreement tied to El Grande Americano,” the outlet stated. “El Grande Americano, who’s been featured on TV regularly, could be in for a bigger role if this endorsement winds up happening.”
The character first appeared in March as part of Chad Gable’s “American Made” faction. However, the gimmick’s trajectory shifted after Gable suffered a shoulder injury in June, forcing him out of action.
In his absence, Ludwig Kaiser stepped into the role, and his portrayal has drawn strong reviews internally. A report earlier this month suggested that several WWE officials view Kaiser as a better fit for the character, citing his performances—including his recent AAA Mega Championship match at Triplemanía XXXIII—as proof of his ability to carry the persona.
Gable’s return from surgery is expected soon, but the combination of a possible sponsorship deal and the company’s growing preference for Kaiser could set up a storyline over who ultimately embodies El Grande Americano.
