WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella has made her intentions clear in her latest comeback: she wants to prove she can still compete at the highest level against today’s generation of talent. Speaking with Stephanie McMahon on What’s Your Story?, the two-time Divas Champion outlined her motivation for returning.
“I’m in a different era coming back this time around,” Bella said. “I was more on that mission of proving what I could do. And now here I wanna prove myself how I can hang and be in this bada division that’s just insane.”*
Her return, however, has come with immediate challenges. Since re-emerging in a battle royal at Evolution in July, Bella has suffered key losses, including a failed bid for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch at Clash in Paris and a submission defeat to Asuka on last week’s Raw.
Bella’s comeback officially began at this year’s Royal Rumble after nearly three years away from a full-time schedule. A planned singles match with Liv Morgan at Evolution was scrapped following Morgan’s injury.
Despite the setbacks, WWE has made it clear that Bella’s run is not a short-term cameo. Earlier this month, the company updated its website to list her on the active Raw roster, confirming her status as a full-time competitor once again.
