Triple H Under Fire For Lying To WWE Star Ahead Of Wrestlepalooza

Vince Russo has accused WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H of deceiving fans about the circumstances surrounding R-Truth’s brief departure and swift return to the company earlier this summer.

On the latest episode of his BroDown podcast, the former WWE writer criticized Triple H for the company’s explanation of the events, pointing to Truth’s reinstatement in the same comedic role he held before being let go. “So, you let Ron Killings go, and you brought him back, only to be in the same exact spot he was before you got rid of him,” Russo said. “That’s why you can’t lie, bro. That’s why you can’t open up your mouth and lie because now you look like an idiot because you released the guy, and you told us it was part of the show, and now he’s right back in the same exact spot.”

The situation began on June 1, when reports confirmed that WWE would not be renewing R-Truth’s contract. The decision, reportedly tied to financial reasons, left many in the locker room stunned and triggered an online backlash directed at Triple H and TKO leadership.

Fans quickly mobilized around the hashtag “We want Truth,” with the movement gaining momentum after it was revealed that the veteran performer’s “Ron Cena” shirt was among WWE’s top-selling items at the time of his release.

Within days, the company reversed course. At the Money in the Bank premium live event, Truth made a surprise return, interfering in the main event by attacking John Cena. The move directly paved the way for Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso to defeat Cena and Logan Paul in tag team action.

After the event, conflicting narratives emerged. Triple H publicly framed the entire saga as a storyline, while multiple reports — and even comments from Truth himself — indicated the release was genuine. It was widely reported that WWE President Nick Khan played a key role in negotiating Truth’s return deal in the days leading up to the PLE, transforming what began as a legitimate controversy into an on-screen storyline.
