WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix arrived in All Elite Wrestling, making her debut at tonight’s All Out pay-per-view, but her night ended in disaster.
The appearance came during the opening contest, which pitted her husband Adam Copeland and his partner Christian Cage against FTR. Referred to on commentary as Beth Copeland, she stormed the ring to neutralize FTR’s manager Stokely Hathaway, who had made comments about her during the build to the match. Phoenix dropped Hathaway with a spear before carrying him to the back to prevent interference.
The move initially paid off, as Copeland and Cage secured the victory in a hard-fought battle. During the contest, Copeland also paid homage to one of his greatest rivals, John Cena, hitting both the Five Knuckle Shuffle and an Attitude Adjustment to the delight of the Toronto crowd.
Any celebration for the reunited team was short-lived. Kip Sabian, Nick Wayne, and Mother Wayne appeared on the ramp, creating a crucial distraction. This allowed FTR to ambush Copeland and Cage from behind, with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler handcuffing a helpless Copeland to the ropes.
With Cage taken out, FTR turned their attention to Phoenix. She refused to back down, throwing punches at the duo, but was overwhelmed. In a brutal display, Harwood and Wheeler hit Phoenix with their signature spike piledriver, leaving her laid out in the center of the ring as her husband watched.
