The anticipated in-ring reunion of The Usos at WWE Wrestlepalooza was reportedly derailed by a legitimate injury to Jey Uso and several last-minute changes to the presentation.
According to a report from BodySlam, the alterations began before the match even started. The brothers were initially slated to use their original theme music for their entrance, but that plan was scrapped in favor of a remixed version blending the classic track with Jey’s “Yeet” theme.
The impromptu changes allegedly continued once the bell rang. After Jey was busted open deep into the tag team contest against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, the finish was reportedly fast-tracked.
A separate report from Bryan Alvarez shed light on the injury, noting that Jey has been placed in concussion protocol. The incident occurred when a steel chair shot intended for Breakker ricocheted off his back and struck Jey in the head.
“Jey busted himself open, he hit Bron with the chair and it bounced off Bron’s back and split him six ways from Sunday,” Alvarez stated. “He’s in concussion protocol, which is a requirement after any injury like this.”
This chaotic sequence directly preceded the match’s conclusion. Breakker blasted both Usos with a spear through a ringside table, allowing Bronson Reed to drag a bloodied Jey into the ring for the pinfall victory after a Tsunami splash. The result was met with boos from the Indianapolis crowd.
WWE has not yet released an official statement on Jey Uso’s status.
