WWE Sets John Cena’s Next Match

John Cena’s retirement tour was just derailed by Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza. Now, WWE has already booked his next match, setting the stage for what’s next.

WWE Sets John Cena’s Next Match

John Cena’s next stop on his farewell tour is already on the books. WWE has confirmed the 17-time champion is scheduled for Crown Jewel in Australia on October 11, just three weeks after the mauling he suffered at the hands of Brock Lesnar.

At Wrestlepalooza, Cena was dismantled by Lesnar in a shockingly short and brutal bout inside the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Beast Incarnate hit a staggering seven F5s—six before the decisive pinfall and one more after the bell to send a message.

The beatdown was a throwback to their infamous squash match at SummerSlam 2014.

Despite the outcome, Cena did mount a significant comeback, dropping Lesnar with three consecutive Attitude Adjustments. The sequence, however, only secured a two-count—a moment Michael Cole punctuated on commentary by reminding viewers the move was originally named the “FU” as a direct shot at Lesnar’s finisher.

With this decisive loss and post-match beatdown in the books, Cena’s confirmed appearance at Crown Jewel raises immediate questions. A rematch against Lesnar seems like a distinct possibility, allowing WWE to recalibrate the send-off for one of its all-time greats.
