The professional fallout from domestic abuse allegations against Masha Slamovich is now impacting her independent bookings. West Coast Pro announced she has been removed from its October 5 event in Portland, while her employer, TNA Wrestling, conducts an internal investigation.
The situation escalated on Tuesday, September 23, when a friend of Slamovich’s ex-partner, independent wrestler AKIRA, posted screenshots of alleged text messages and images appearing to show injuries.
A TNA spokesperson confirmed to The Takedown on Sports Illustrated that a formal review is underway. The statement read: “We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation.” Pending the outcome, Slamovich has been pulled from TNA programming and live events.
One of the screenshots, attributed to Slamovich, allegedly included the message: “You cursed at me — that’s why you got hit. Again, cool to see you claim intelligence and can’t see metaphor.”
AKIRA, real name Alexander Atkisson, released an extensive statement on social media Tuesday afternoon. He claimed to have attempted s—cide three times during the relationship and described a damaging dynamic. “I gave a lot with little in return,” he wrote. “I had a lot of growing up to do and despite my progression I was always told I was never doing enough.”
These developments raise serious uncertainty about Slamovich’s immediate future in TNA. The former Knockouts World Champion is scheduled for a major title match against Ash by Elegance at Victory Road this Friday, September 26.
