CM Punk has officially endorsed the next generation of WWE headliners, identifying Bron Breakker as a guaranteed future WrestleMania main eventer. The statement came during Punk’s guest appearance on Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls.
When asked about the company’s future, Punk gave a blunt assessment:
“We have a few on the roster. The problem is I think personally I don’t like any of them. I think Bron Breakker is an obvious bona fide WrestleMania main event superstar.”
He also mentioned current Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio as another talent capable of headlining WrestleMania. The episode was taped in June at Fanatics Fest.
For Punk, the WrestleMania main event carries personal weight. After returning to WWE in November 2023, he fulfilled his long-standing goal by headlining Night One of WrestleMania 41 in a Triple Threat Match against Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns—a dream that had been denied under Vince McMahon’s creative leadership prior to Punk’s 2014 departure.
Punk’s praise for the 27-year-old powerhouse mirrors internal sentiment within WWE management. A report from Bodyslam notes that Breakker, now part of The Vision, has been discussed as a possible opponent for Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
This long-term planning follows Lesnar’s dominant return at Wrestlepalooza, where he defeated John Cena in under ten minutes. According to Dave Meltzer, the decisive finish was specifically requested by Cena, who is using his farewell tour to elevate others and re-establish Lesnar as a top-tier threat. Cena’s next confirmed appearance is Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, on October 11.
