Tiffany Stratton Addresses Controversial WWE Announcement

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has her sights set on the future, voicing strong enthusiasm for WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. Her comments come just as she has been cleared from an injury scare that briefly altered her schedule.

Speaking with Going Ringside, Stratton recalled positive past experiences in the country, highlighting activities outside the ring. “I’m excited. The last time we were there I believe, we went on this little safari adventure, and I hope we get to do that again because that was super fun.”

She also acknowledged the historical significance of women competing in Saudi Arabia, a key aspect of WWE’s partnership with the nation that began in 2018 under the “Saudi Vision 2030” program. The landscape has changed dramatically since Natalya and Lacey Evans took part in the first women’s match at Crown Jewel in 2019, when both wore full-body suits.

Referencing a fellow superstar, Stratton stated her ambition to contribute to that ongoing evolution. “I think Bianca mentioned women are making history over there, and I can’t wait to be a part of that myself. So I’m super excited and I can’t wait.”

Her forward-looking focus follows a tense period. During a title defense against Jade Cargill on the September 12 edition of SmackDown, Stratton overshot a top-rope moonsault and crashed to the floor.

Although she later explained the medical checks were “more, like, precautionary,” WWE pulled her from the NXT Homecoming event and postponed a planned three-way title match from the September 20 Wrestlepalooza card.

Now cleared, Stratton is set to defend her championship against Jade Cargill and Nia Jax on the September 26 episode of SmackDown. The winner will advance to challenge Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship at WWE Crown Jewel.
