WWE has reportedly halted plans for Masha Slamovich’s role in the TNA crossover storyline following an internal TNA investigation into domestic abuse allegations.

WWE Cancels Plans For Current Champion After Serious Allegations Surface

The professional fallout surrounding TNA star Masha Slamovich has now reached WWE. According to Fightful Select, WWE has placed all plans involving Slamovich in the ongoing TNA invasion storyline on hold. The move follows TNA’s suspension of Slamovich after she was publicly accused of domestic violence by her ex-partner, independent wrestler AKIRA.

TNA confirmed it has launched a formal review. In a statement to The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, a spokesperson said: “We take any allegations like this very seriously, and have begun an internal investigation.” Pending the outcome, Slamovich has been removed from all TNA programming and live events.

The most immediate consequence was the cancellation of a major title match. Slamovich had been scheduled to challenge Ash by Elegance for the Knockouts World Title at Victory Road on Friday, September 26, but all references to the bout have been scrubbed from TNA’s website.

Her absence was evident on Tuesday’s episode of NXT. While Knockouts World Champion Ash by Elegance took part in the show-closing brawl between TNA and NXT talent, Slamovich was not present. She had previously been a central figure in the crossover, including a six-woman tag match on the July 15 episode.

The situation escalated on Tuesday, September 23, when a friend of AKIRA posted screenshots of alleged text messages and photos of injuries, including facial bruises. One message attributed to Slamovich allegedly read: “You cursed at me — that’s why you got hit. Again, cool to see you claim intelligence and can’t see metaphor.”

AKIRA, whose real name is Alexander Atkisson, later released a lengthy statement detailing the emotional toll of the relationship. He claimed to have attempted s—cide three times and described a damaging dynamic: “I had a lot of growing up to do and despite my progression I was always told I was never doing enough.”

The fallout has extended to the independent scene. West Coast Pro announced Slamovich’s removal from its October 5 show in Portland. As of now, she has not issued a public statement regarding the allegations or the actions taken by TNA and WWE.

Slamovich’s career now hangs in the balance. WWE’s decision to pause her role in the NXT crossover, combined with TNA’s internal investigation and removal of her from a championship match, underscores a swift and coordinated response from both companies. Her future in the high-profile invasion angle—and in the industry at large—depends entirely on the results of TNA’s review. The rapid cross-promotional fallout sets a clear standard, making a simple return to her previous spot unlikely regardless of the investigation’s conclusion.
