Masha Slamovich Issues First Public Statement After Domestic Violence Allegations

Masha Slamovich issued a statement Wednesday evening addressing domestic abuse allegations made public by her ex-partner, independent wrestler AKIRA. The fallout has led to her removal from TNA’s Victory Road pay-per-view and the launch of an internal investigation, placing her career in doubt.

In her statement, Slamovich described the relationship as “toxic and mutually destructive.” She did not address specific claims but accepted responsibility for her actions and expressed remorse, noting she has since sought help.

“Up until the beginning of this year, I was in a toxic and mutually destructive relationship. We hurt each other deeply, and in private moments, failed to treat each other with the consideration and respect we both deserve.

I take responsibility for my actions and I am sorry, embarrassed, and ashamed of the role I played in our relationship and the way things turned out.

In the time since, I have sought help to reflect on this time and deal with conflict in more mature, healthier, and sustainable ways.

I apologize to those that I let down, including my former partner. I hope he is able to heal.

This will be my only statement on the matter.

Masha”

The controversy began earlier this week when a friend of AKIRA released alleged screenshots and images showing a pattern of troubling behavior. In a separate statement, AKIRA, whose real name is Alexander Atkisson, revealed he attempted s—cide multiple times during the relationship.

As a result, TNA pulled Slamovich from her scheduled Knockouts Championship match against Ash By Elegance at Victory Road and removed promotional materials for the bout. The company confirmed to Sports Illustrated it has opened an internal investigation. Several independent promotions, including West Coast Pro, also removed Slamovich from upcoming events.

This comes as Slamovich’s TNA contract is reportedly nearing expiration. According to Fightful Select, her absence from the TNA invasion angle on the September 23 episode of NXT was unrelated, as she was never booked for the segment and was in Spain at the time. WWE sources confirmed any potential involvement would have been put on hold until the matter was resolved.
