Tony Khan May Have Indicated No Comeback Plans For AEW Star

The AEW status of former Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker is under speculation after her absence from the September 24 edition of Dynamite in Pittsburgh, her hometown. Baker did not appear on the show, fueling talk that she may be finished with the promotion.

A foundational member of AEW since its 2019 launch, Baker has not appeared on programming for more than 10 months. Her last televised match took place on Dynamite in November 2024.

The September 24 broadcast was significant, as AEW President Tony Khan announced the creation of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship. Many expected Baker to return during the Pittsburgh taping given her local ties, but she was not featured.

The new championships are the third title exclusive to the women’s division, joining the AEW Women’s World Championship and the TBS Championship.
