Jey Uso shared an image on Instagram showing the stitches he received after being busted open at WWE Wrestlepalooza. The injury happened during a match against The Vision when a chair shot aimed at Bron Breakker ricocheted and struck Uso in the head.
Despite being placed in concussion protocol, Uso was medically cleared to compete. He wrestled on the September 22 episode of RAW against LA Knight, wearing a bandage to cover the wound throughout the broadcast.
Former wrestler Stevie Richards described the incident on his YouTube channel as a “freak accident.” Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer noted the injury was severe and unplanned.
Richards provided a breakdown of the moment. “This is very much a freak accident, and we’re going to say it multiple times,” he stated. “It looked like a regular chair shot, but you can automatically see right away that there’s already some blood coming down Jey’s forehead. And he starts staggering… you know something went wrong, but it’s one of those things that happened so quickly that nobody really knows.”
The injury occurred in the same match where Uso’s animosity toward LA Knight began, as he blamed the special guest referee for The Usos’ loss to The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. That angle continued on RAW, where interference from The Vision allowed Uso to defeat Knight. Afterward, Jey walked away during a post-match assault on Knight by the heel faction.
This apparent character shift has raised concern from Jey’s brother, Jimmy Uso, who compared his twin’s demeanor to Roman Reigns.
