Real Problem in Triple H’s WWE Creative May Have Been Revealed

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo has claimed that Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque lacks a critical voice in his inner circle, someone willing to challenge him on the quality of the product. He made the assertion during a recent episode of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge’s BroDown.

Russo argued that the creative structure under Levesque, who has led main roster storylines since 2022, is missing a key element he once provided to Vince McMahon. He recalled an instance where he told McMahon he did not like the product, which led to collaborative changes.

“The problem is there’s no Vince Russo to Triple H right now. You guys can watch the Unreal with the hugs and the resting heads against each other, and there’s no Vince Russo saying to Triple H, ‘You thought that was a good show tonight? Did you? What was good about it, Trips?’”

His remarks come at a time when WWE’s creative direction has faced more frequent criticism since the start of the year. On September 25, 2025, former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Shotzi voiced her own disappointment with Levesque. After her contract was not renewed in May 2025, following a year-long recovery from a torn ACL, she stated she felt he “gave up on me.”

Despite the critiques, WWE remains profitable as it prepares for the Crown Jewel premium live event next month. Levesque has announced two major matches for the show: the men’s and women’s world champions will face off for a new Crown Jewel championship, and John Cena will battle AJ Styles in Perth.
