WWE Announces Seth Rollins vs CM Punk for World Heavyweight Championship

WWE has officially revealed the match cards for its two-night event at Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, set for October 17 and 18. Night one will close with a World Heavyweight Championship clash between the champion, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk.

Also on October 17, the Women’s United States Championship will be contested in a Triple Threat bout. Giulia defends her title against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Another highlight of the opening night is the debut of a new tag team: Jey Uso partners with Shinsuke Nakamura to face The Vision’s Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

The storyline expands the next evening. On October 18, CM Punk, Jey Uso, and Shinsuke Nakamura unite for the six-man main event against the full Vision lineup of Rollins, Breakker, and Reed.

The second night will also showcase Kairi Sane, accompanied by Asuka, in a singles contest with Giulia. Additionally, IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley will join forces in a tag team match against The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez.

These shows mark CM Punk’s first WWE match in Japan since December 1, 2011, when he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Alberto Del Rio at a live event. After the Tokyo tour, IYO SKY is scheduled for an appearance with Dream Star Fighting Marigold on October 26, challenging Superfly Champion Mayu Iwatani. That match will be their first encounter since 2018.
