A production error disrupted the broadcast of NXT No Mercy on Saturday, when a lower third graphic mistakenly displayed a photo of former ring announcer Samantha Irvin under the name of current backstage interviewer Kelly Kincaid. The graphic was designed to showcase the broadcast team but instead misidentified one of its members.
The error appeared during the opening bout between Je’Von Evans and Josh Briggs. Irvin’s inclusion was inaccurate, as she departed WWE in 2024, more than a year prior to the event. The display correctly listed Vic Joseph and Booker T as commentators, along with Mike Rome as the ring announcer, but mismatched Irvin’s image with Kincaid’s name.
Mike Rome remains the assigned ring announcer for NXT. On the main roster, Alicia Taylor handles Raw duties while Mark Nash serves as SmackDown’s announcer. The mistake highlighted a lapse in production accuracy during a high-visibility segment of the show.
Irvin has previously explained her decision to leave WWE. She clarified her exit was unrelated to Ricochet’s jump to AEW. Instead, she pursued opportunities as an on-screen character, particularly a managerial role. When that path did not open, she chose to depart and is now focused on a music career. After her departure notice, Lilian Garcia briefly stepped in as a replacement.
The contest that framed the production slip concluded with Je’Von Evans securing victory over Josh Briggs, finishing the match with a top-rope cutter.
