WWE has confirmed a singles bout between Jaida Parker and Lash Legend for the September 30 episode of NXT. The same show will also feature NXT General Manager Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella revealing their lineups for the upcoming NXT vs. TNA Invasion event.
The Parker vs. Legend match stems from incidents at the No Mercy PLE earlier on Saturday. During the Women’s Speed Championship contest, Parker replaced the injured Lainey Reid as a surprise entrant. Legend appeared at ringside, sparking a fight that also pulled in Zaria. The distraction gave champion Sol Ruca the opening to hit the Sol Snatcher on Parker and retain her title.
Later that night, another physical clash between Parker and Legend escalated to the point that security was forced to break it up. The repeated confrontations prompted officials to book the one-on-one encounter for Tuesday’s NXT.
Meanwhile, Ava and Marella’s selections will set the stage for two Survivor Series–style elimination matches on October 7. The Invasion special, airing on The CW, was formally unveiled by Ava during No Mercy. She pointed to the “extremely fractured” relationship between the two companies, citing TNA’s sudden invasion during a Trick Williams vs. Oba Femi title match as the breaking point.
The card for Invasion will also include a high-stakes tag title clash. NXT Tag Team Champions Darkstate will battle TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys in a winner-take-all showdown. Ava confirmed that no other performers will be allowed at ringside to ensure the contest ends decisively.
