Update Clarifies Why AEW Star Off TV

A new update has been provided on the status of AEW star Hologram, who was written off television during the September 27, 2025 episode of Collision. The angle saw TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher attack him backstage, creating the kayfabe explanation for his absence.

Following the broadcast, AEW President Tony Khan addressed the situation publicly. In a message posted on Twitter/X, he stated: “Get well soon, Hologram! After an unprovoked attack backstage at AEW Collision tonight by TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, Hologram has significant injuries. We’re all cheering for Hologram + wishing him the best in his recovery. Sadly, Hologram likely is out the rest of 2025.”

Details regarding the nature of the issue were later clarified by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, who noted that Hologram suffered a knee injury on Wednesday’s show in Pittsburgh. The damage, sustained to the same knee that had previously sidelined him, proved more severe than initially expected, and he will be out for the remainder of the year.

The injury has already altered AEW’s short-term booking, as Hologram has been removed from his scheduled TNT Championship match on Dynamite. Orange Cassidy will step in to challenge Kyle Fletcher for the title instead.

The segment that set up the attack had been preceded by a video featuring Hologram’s rival Clon, adding narrative weight to the angle. This setback marks the second major interruption of Hologram’s run in AEW since his debut in July 2024. He was previously forced out from October 2024 to February 2025 due to an ankle injury, a period that also coincided with the birth of his child.

Before this latest development, the masked luchador had maintained an undefeated record in singles and tag team competition, including a trios victory on the Dynamite preceding Collision, where he scored the fall on Hechicero.
