An update has been provided on the AEW injury status of Bang Bang Gang members Jay White and Colten Gunn, clarifying their expected return timelines. According to a Wrestling Observer Radio report on Monday, White’s return is “not imminent,” while Gunn remains several months away from a comeback.
White has been out of action since March, initially due to a hand injury. He subsequently opted to undergo surgery on his shoulder, which has significantly extended his time on the sidelines. This assessment aligns with a previous Fightful report which suggested he would likely be out for the remainder of 2025.
In the absence of White and Gunn, who was injured in July, the faction has brought in Ace Austin. Austin now teams with Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn to represent The Bang Bang Gang on AEW programming.
The injuries to White and Gunn are part of a larger pattern of setbacks that has plagued The Bang Bang Gang throughout the year. Juice Robinson only returned to action in July after a seven-month absence due to a broken fibula. Shortly after his comeback, Colten Gunn was sidelined with what was revealed to be a knee injury.
This is not the first time an injury to White has stalled the group’s momentum. In July 2024, the faction was forced to vacate the Unified World Trios Championship after a foot injury kept White out of action for nearly three months. AEW President Tony Khan has previously confirmed that significant creative plans for White, who was reportedly in line for a main event push, have been derailed by his injuries.
