A new report has shed light on the recent departure of Edris Enofe from WWE, suggesting his exit from the NXT brand stemmed from management being unimpressed with the talent. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, while Enofe possesses an impressive physique, he failed to connect with key decision-makers backstage.
Meltzer’s report indicated that the company’s decision to stop featuring Enofe on television was a clear sign that there were no significant creative plans for him. This lack of direction effectively precluded any possibility of a main roster call-up.
Enofe officially announced his departure on September 29, 2025, confirming the end of his four-year tenure in a statement where he described the move as a personal decision he had considered for a long time. His exit has already drawn attention from outside the company, with AEW’s Ricochet issuing a public challenge to the free agent.
During his time in NXT, Enofe was primarily featured in the tag team division with his partner, Malik Blade, who has been sidelined with a torn ACL since December 2024. After a brief run as a singles performer on the Evolve brand earlier this year, Enofe returned from his own shoulder surgery, with his final match taking place at a non-televised NXT live event in July.
Enofe’s departure is not an isolated incident for the developmental brand. Jazmyn Nyx is also slated to leave the company after reportedly declining a contract extension. She was recently written off television on the September 23 episode of NXT, where an angle saw her attacked by her Fatal Influence stablemates, Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley.
