AEW Announces Date, Location For Next Blood and Guts

AEW has officially announced that its signature Blood and Guts event will take place on Wednesday, November 12, at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The confirmation, made via social media, sets the stage for what is expected to be the first-ever women’s edition of the violent, double-cage spectacle.

The announcement gives a date and location to a major angle that escalated on the September 27 episode of AEW Collision. Following a post-match assault, Jamie Hayter issued a direct challenge to Julia Hart, Thekla, and Skye Blue for a Blood and Guts match. The challenge came after a three-on-one beatdown on Hayter, which was halted when Queen Aminata entered to even the odds.

A women’s Blood and Guts would mark a historic moment for the division. First introduced in May 2021, the match format has been held four times, with previous editions occurring in June 2022, July 2023, and July 2024, all exclusively featuring male talent. The contest, AEW’s version of WarGames, places two teams inside a single cage covering two rings, with victory only achievable through submission or surrender after every participant has entered.

The potential for a women’s match has been a topic of discussion for some time. Company President Tony Khan stated earlier this year that there was no policy preventing women from competing in the stipulation, and wrestlers like Willow Nightingale have publicly advocated for it. The ongoing storyline also involves former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, who is scheduled to appear on this Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite.
