Jazmyn Nyx has officially departed WWE after turning down a multi-year contract extension, a move that highlights the company’s evolving approach to talent compensation. The former NXT star cited the proposed annual salary as financially inadequate for her future.
The offer, reportedly valued at $75,000 per year, represented no increase from her previous deal. Nyx stated the figure “just wasn’t going to cut it.” WWE’s negotiation stance linked significant salary increases to a potential main roster call-up, which could have quadrupled or quintupled her pay, rather than guaranteeing a raise in her developmental contract.
Nyx publicly addressed her compensation on Instagram, refuting a fan’s suggestion that NXT talent earns between $80,000 and $150,000. “If I was making that, it would’ve been great!” she wrote. Sources indicated the $75,000 offer was a gross figure, with estimated take-home pay potentially being as low as $60,000 after taxes and professional expenses.
WWE has already concluded Nyx’s on-screen storyline. On the September 23 episode of NXT, an angle saw her attacked backstage by Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley, which served to officially disband their stable, Fatal Influence.
The situation underscores a broader shift in WWE’s talent negotiation strategy. While some developmental stars reportedly secure six-figure deals, Nyx’s departure is indicative of a model where the company is increasingly willing to part ways with talent not yet established on the main roster rather than meet higher salary demands at the NXT level.
