ROH World Television Champion Nick Wayne is reportedly injured, casting uncertainty over his major new heel storyline just months after he turned on mentor Christian Cage at All In: Texas.

Current AEW Champion Reportedly Dealing With Injury

ROH World Television Champion Nick Wayne is reportedly dealing with a foot injury, according to a new report from PWInsider. The report did not specify the severity of the injury or how long, if any, the third-generation wrestler might be out of action.

The news introduces a significant variable into Wayne’s career trajectory, which was dramatically altered on July 12 at the All In: Texas pay-per-view. On that night, he executed a shocking turn on his long-time mentor, Christian Cage, after the two failed to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship. The attack effectively disbanded The Patriarchy stable and established a new heel direction for Wayne.

As the current and youngest-ever ROH World Television Champion, any potential absence impacts the Ring of Honor title picture. Wayne captured the championship from Komander during the April 17 episode of AEW Collision.

This singles title reign followed a historic run with the AEW World Trios Championship. Alongside Cage and Killswitch, Wayne won the titles on July 21, 2024, a victory that made him the youngest champion in AEW history at 19 years old.

Wayne, who was famously offered an AEW contract by Darby Allin in February 2022 while still a teenager, made his official debut for the company on July 12, 2023.
