Positive Update On Jade Cargill’s Injury Status After WWE SmackDown

Jade Cargill appears to have avoided a major setback following the gruesome injury she sustained on last week’s SmackDown. According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the word circulating after Monday’s Raw is that Cargill only needed stitches to close the large gash.

Crucially, the injury did not require plastic surgery, and the internal hope is that she will be cleared for a return within a few weeks. The report also notes that there are no signs she has been pulled from the road.

The incident occurred during the triple threat main event for the WWE Women’s Championship on the September 26th edition of SmackDown. Cargill was legitimately busted open after a ringside sequence where Nia Jax threw her into the steel steps, splitting her eyebrow.

Shortly after the match, Cargill took to Instagram with a clear message about her commitment, writing, “don’t question the love I have for this game.”

While Tiffany Stratton ultimately retained her WWE Women’s Championship by pinning Nia Jax, the show ended by setting up a completely different angle. Stratton’s celebration was cut short by the arrival of Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, who confronted her in the ring for a tense, title-for-title staredown to close the broadcast.
