AEW’s Ortiz has publicly signaled his interest in returning to the company’s television programming, responding to a fan’s request on social media.
The exchange began when a fan on Twitter appealed to AEW President Tony Khan to bring Ortiz back to the active roster. The post caught the wrestler’s attention, prompting a direct reply.
“That would be cool….” Ortiz wrote in response.
This interaction marks one of the few times Ortiz has addressed his AEW status since his last appearance on the January 20, 2024, episode of AEW Collision. During that show, he suffered a torn pectoral injury while teaming with Eddie Kingston in a match against Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli.
Following surgery for the injury, Ortiz made his return to in-ring competition on the independent circuit in March 2025. He has remained active in various promotions across North America since then, though his status with AEW has remained unconfirmed.
