AEW has added three new matches to this Saturday’s Collision lineup for September 6. Mark Briscoe will face Konosuke Takeshita, FTR will be in tag team action against Adam Priest and a partner to be named, and an eight-woman tag match has been set. These bouts join the previously announced contest between Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia, finalizing the card for the event at Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.
The singles match between Mark Briscoe and Konosuke Takeshita is a direct result of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. On that show, Briscoe issued a challenge to The Don Callis Family, which Don Callis accepted on Takeshita’s behalf. The two then had a face-to-face confrontation in the ring. Briscoe gained momentum later in the evening by defeating another Callis Family member, Lance Archer.
FTR’s upcoming match also carries threads from the Wednesday night show. Their opponent, Adam Priest, was part of the Ring of Honor locker room contingent that separated FTR and the team of Christian Cage and Adam Copeland during their brawl on Dynamite. Priest also has recent history with FTR, having teamed with JD Drake in a losing effort against them on last week’s Collision.
The previously announced main event between Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia serves as an immediate rematch from their hard-fought encounter on the September 3 edition of Dynamite, which Moxley won. The rivalry has seen Garcia express intense frustration in his quest to prove himself, while Moxley and the Death Riders have appeared to be recruiting him, with Moxley even offering advice during one of Garcia’s matches on Collision.
Rounding out the newly announced matches is an All Star eight-woman tag team contest. The bout will see Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, Kris Statlander, and Harley Cameron team up to face Megan Bayne and the Triangle of Madness trio of Thekla, Skye Blue, and Julia Hart.
