After more than a year away from an AEW ring, Eddie Kingston is officially set for a comeback. He confirmed his return via his Instagram story, accepting a challenge laid down by the imposing Big Bill.
In a characteristically blunt statement, Kingston revealed that his side of the deal is done and he is just waiting on his new rival. “So got the phone call and the money is right—contract is signed on my end. So Big Bill, you dumb goofy bastard, just send the location.”
The challenge itself was issued on the September 7th edition of AEW Collision. During an in-ring promo, Big Bill declared himself the “toughest guy from New York” before calling out Kingston directly. Kingston’s acceptance now sets the stage for his first match back, ending a long period of inactivity for the brawler.
Kingston’s Year-Long Injury
The “Mad King” has been on the shelf since suffering an injury at NJPW Resurgence last year. This upcoming bout with Big Bill will mark his official return from that long recovery.
