AEW Announces First Full Gear Match

AEW has officially announced the first match for its upcoming Full Gear event on November 22, which will see the team of RPG Vice take on “Big Boom” AJ and a partner he selects. The event is scheduled to take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The matchup was established during a video segment that aired before the WrestleDream pay-per-view, which is scheduled for October 18. In the video, an initial challenge from AJ and his son, “Big Justice,” was dismissed by Rocky Romero, who stated they would not be “fighting a child” before issuing a counter-offer for a traditional two-on-two contest.

Adding another layer to the confrontation, Trent Beretta of RPG Vice appeared in the segment wearing a cast on his arm. The injury was sustained during the All In Texas: Zero Hour pre-show, where Beretta’s Don Callis Family team was defeated in a multi-man tag team match by a group that included Big Boom AJ.

Full Gear has been a cornerstone event for the promotion since its inception in 2019. Past editions have featured significant encounters, including an “I Quit” match between Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston in 2020 and an AEW World Championship bout between “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega in 2021.
