The line between on-screen antics and real-life career moves gets blurrier by the day in pro wrestling, and AEW’s Danhausen just added a significant wrinkle to that trend. While he hasn’t competed for Tony Khan’s company since 2022, the comedic star is making waves by openly referencing WWE’s biggest star, “The Final Boss” himself, The Rock.

On his X account, Danhausen posted a photo of Dwayne Johnson inside a clock, stuck to a door, with the caption “Dwayne ‘The Clock’ Johnson.”

For any other performer, this might be a simple joke. But for Danhausen, it lands differently, fueling speculation that he could be headed to the Stamford-based powerhouse. According to a report from Fightful Select, AEW recently extended Danhausen’s contract to make up for injury time, a move allegedly made against his wishes.

This latest social media post adds another layer to the situation, as other reports have indicated that many high-level people within WWE, including The Rock, are “huge fans” of Danhausen’s unique gimmick.

By directly referencing a known admirer in the competition, Danhausen is keeping the wrestling world guessing about what his next move will be.
